Where dental teams talk.

ChairTalk meets dental professionals, supports them, and trains their teams. Made by a treatment coordinator who has done the job.

ChairTalk?
Chair, as in the one in surgery two. Talk, as in a proper sit-down. The name has two meanings, and we use both.
What does ChairTalk actually do?
Three things. In this order, because the first one feeds the other two.
  1. Meet

We interview dental professionals, and anyone with a dental story, about life and work.

First: the ChairTalk interview series. Recording soon

  2. Support

Practical help for the day-to-day of a practice: the patient journey, treatment coordination, and the morning huddle.

First: huddle films you can play at the start of the day. Episode 1 is below

  3. Train

Training for dental teams, in the practice or online: communication, treatment coordination, and running a huddle people want to come to.

First: the training menu is being written. Register your interest

Who takes the chair?
Dentists, nurses, hygienists, therapists, treatment coordinators, receptionists, and practice managers. And people from any walk of life who have a story worth hearing.
What do you talk about?
Life and work. The job, the hard days, what keeps you going. It is a conversation, not a quiz, and it is always kind to the person in the chair.

Series one. Six conversations.

Every guest gets the same last question.

Tell me about your time in the chair.

The chair question. Asked in every interview, whoever is sitting in it.

And the cartoon tooth?
Our huddle films are short, upbeat clips a practice can play at the start of the day. They are fronted by a tooth avatar, because a cartoon can say "be kinder to each other" without anyone feeling told off.
Who is in episode 1?
Dr Kunal Patel, principal dentist, as a tooth. The subject is being more positive at work. Lorna's own avatar hosts the series.
Episode 1 Be more positive at work 1 min 33
Who is behind it?
Lorna, founder of ChairTalk. A treatment coordinator in a UK dental practice: the person who sits with a patient after the dentist has spoken and makes the plan make sense. ChairTalk grew out of that chair. She also writes The Patient Conversation on Substack, about the conversations that help patients feel informed and ready.
And the technology?
Scott at AIU2, "AI is for you too", builds the systems and AI tools behind ChairTalk. Lorna brings the dentistry. Scott brings the plumbing.
Lorna's ChairTalk avatar: a smiling white molar with long honey-blonde hair, wearing a charcoal blazer

How do I get in touch?
Email Lorna. Say who you are, where you work, and what you would like: a chat, training for your team, or a seat in the chair.
